12/13/2004 | KU4UV This was my first real effort at participation in the 10 meter contest. I had to work most of the day on Saturday, so I didn't get on the air until Sunday morning. Conditions were poor, like I figured they would be, and I managed to work only about 40 stations in my few hours of contesting, running 100 Watts from an Icom 730 into a dipole in the attic of my apartment. I worked quite a lot of South American and European stations, as well as Floridians and California. I almost didn't participate in the contest, but I figured I would help put at least one more Kentucky station on the air. Thanks to all who participated in the contest and toughed out the rather rough propagation.
