12/15/2004 | W8EHH This was my second contest since i moved here to Florida. This year was my first attempt at QRP.Conditions on Saturday were very poor could not hear much. I was using a 10 meter vertical dipole at 10 feet. Tried my 1/4 sive G5-RV at 13 feet laying on top of the peek of the roof. In a 55 plus park and cant have quads or yagis or dipoles strung out. By Sat evening I had 20 contacts mostly on CW. The next morning tried again but still couldnt hear much, but the G5-RV was doing better. Just for the heck of it I tried the 6 meter Vertical dipole at 8 feet and it was hearing better than all the others so used it and managed to work over twice as many as i did Sat. Ended up with a total of 63 contacts which wasnt bad for a 5 watts and a 6 mtr verticle dipole.
Will be looking forward to next year and maybe haveing a 10 mtr ant that works. HI HI
