01/13/2005 | NA4O After 37 years as a ham, I finally operated my first SKN and I am glad I did. I still use a straight key most of the time, but it was fun hearing about the keys others were using. My key is a Speed-X that I began using as a Novice with the call of WN4GDQ. My most interesting QSO was with Bill, K4DXU, who was on the air for the first time with a straight key. He kept being tempted by the paddle nearby, but stayed with the straight key for a nice QSO. I just worked a few stations, but heard many operating SKN. It is on my calendar for next year.
