01/03/2005 | KT3A I am glad to see SKN is making a comeback. I often miss it because I visit friends over the holiday. This year, I had some time to make a few contacts and welcome other hams into 2005. As I was working the bands from the shack, I could not help but notice that the weather was sunny and the temperature was 60 degrees here in south central PA.
I had no choice left; I needed to set up outside! This probably won't happen again, so I had to get a photo. The set up here was the Elecraft K1 feeding an end fed half wave wire for 40m strung up in the back yard. I then enjoyed both the sun and making contacts with 4 watts QRP. -- KT3A
