01/05/2005 | N3ZOC Only worked two stations during SKN. First W1HGY, Ted in Taunton MA who said that it was his "first CW in a long time". Next was WG8W, Rod in Montrose MI. In discussing the unusually warm weather we both were having, Rod mentioned that he had taken his Harley out for a spin the day before. This in turn brought back memories of my younger days in the USAF in Germany when I rode a motorcycle during the winter. Although I have gone to paddles because of shaky hands, I still keep the J-38 handy for those times I need to slow the keying speed below 10wpm for new CW ops. SKN signals across the CW bands at my slow speed are a pleasure to hear. -- N3ZOC
