01/08/2005 | K9TR Had a lot of fun in SKN, as always. Some frantic last minute searching occured as I was unable to locate any straight key (last used one year prior) anywhere within the shack, but found my favorite, a McElroy 300 series teardrop, just as things got going.

Several great fists heard, I can't single any particular one out as "best".

Best comment heard was that my Ranger 2 sounded like I "was from Cuba". Ok, so it has developed a bit of a jumpy VFO, this gives it character. Then I was asked if I was running one of those "keyed Hartley Osc Rigs". Sigh. Ranger back on the shelf for future diagnostics, out comes the Apache. I think my back was more sore from lifting the Heath Apache than my arm was from the QSO's.
