01/11/2005 | K3WWP Straight Key night took on an added interest for me this year because of the new North American QRP CW Club (NAQCC). The club had a special event called simply "5" that coincided with and included SKN. To 'honor' the year 2005, the club offered an award for making 5 half-hour or longer rag chews in the period Dec 27, 2004 through Jan 5, 2005 (the last 5 days of 2004 and the first 5 days of 2005). As with all SKN's, a great topic of conversation is the key that one is using, so it was easy to make rag chews toward the award. Anyone reading this is certainly a CW fan, and may be interested in the NAQCC which promotes operation on the most wonderful of all modes - CW.
