Well this was our second contest, Last year we operated under W6SN, from a cold, wet and windy mountaintop. This year we where up 1100' ASL in CM98 - El Dorado Hills, Ca. Being in the limited Multi-Op class is fun, There aren't many people doing it and with a modest setup you can get some good scores. Nick, W6GNU was our other op. We where using M2 6m3's on 6, a stack of Arrow 2m 4element on 2 (With a backup of a Elk 2m/440 Log Periodic) and an Elk 2M/440 Log on 440. We would have had 900mhz fm, but we got some wrong parts to mod a MaxTrac I had. All in all it was good.
This contest was much funer, we had all 3 bands up from the start, although we started 2 hrs late, we still got a good score. We had 2 DX contacts, one from CM98 to DM13 on 2m - 355 miles. A hard copy but it was good. And from CM98 to CN70 also on 2m 240 miles. VHF seemed to be favorable.
