2005 ARRL January VHF Sweepstakes

01/27/2005 | W1AUV/R The snow kept me from working as much as I would have liked this January. I still managed to have a good time though 6 meters was absent and 1296 failed right out of the gate. As usual Jeff, K1TEO, was there for me and we even made a great snow scatter 10 Gig QSO on Saturday.

Sunday morning we had snow on top of our snow here in the Northeast and it was very very cold. It was so cold the camera froze so I have no pictures of the frozen van. I stayed close to home in the morning but I couldn't use some of my usual spots because they were not plowed. So I left for Blandford, MA where I usually end the contests.

I appreciated Fred, N1DPM putting the idea in my head to brave the cold and try another 10 Gig contact on Sunday. Shooting through gas pumps was very different than snow scatter. Thanks Fred.

Thanks to everyone who stuck with me. While I have a lot to do, I can't wait for June.
