02/10/2005 | W4CIA As this was the first time we were to use our newly-acquired van, the Club decided not to venture too far from our home base this time, staying down on 'average terrain', rather than searching out a high spot.

When we discovered the weather prediction of gales, snow and ice accumulation, we took the ultra-cautious approach and didn't risk damage to the pneumatic tower on it's first event.

Though the radio conditions appeared poor, our post-event debriefings tended to focus on the influence of the weather, rather than the low score.
