02/22/2005 | K0HW This was my second try at this contest. I wan not going to add any Soapbox comments until I read the one from YI9VCQ. I think it is great that we could have a US Ham on from IRAQ. My son is over there also in the U. S. Army and I have been trying to get him more interested in this wonderful hobby/occupation. He has a short wave radio over there with him that can copy SSB so I will send him the times for the Phone ARRL DX contest and he can listen in a bit if he has time.

I really had a hard time getting started in this one but it worked out for the best as I put in twice as much time as last year and scored 35% more points. I was sick with a cold for the last 6 hours and in the middle of those 6 hours my 19 inch monitor went bad and I had to sub in a 17 inch monitor.
