02/26/2005 | W1JQ I like CW more and more. I actually finished this contest without a headache. Of course, that may have more to do with family conditions, which prevented me from putting in as much time as I might have.

The 160 meter antenna went flaky Friday night--really high SWR, but still tuneable by the automatic tuner in the IC-765. That tuner is a brick... the antenna was working better Saturday, but the band wasn't as good.

I missed the mini-openings on 10 (partly due to family); I was pleasantly surprised at how long European propagation hung in on 15 and 20 meters.

All in all, did better than I thought I would, given the time available.

On to ARRL DX Phone!
