2005 ARRL International DX Contest (CW)
First of all, I would like to thanks F4EGD, Sylvain, for his help to repair my HAM IV. Murphy was here the day before the contest and my rotator felt down ! Without any help from Sylvain, nothing could be possible ! Merci Sylvain.
During the contest, the first part was great, nice signals from both sides, east and west coast. On saturday afternoon, I hope to meet more stations from west coast thru the long path that I did. But conditions began to drop down and the second night was horrible. Big splatters from some stations from eastern europe and weak signals from states side.
On sunday, I had some trouble with "possible french HAM", tuning and vocifiering on my frequency. If HAM they are, they have to learn what is the Ham Spirit or leave the amateur radio world.
At the end of the contest, I made some good pile up and was very close to beat my record from last year, 1150 QSO. Unfortunatly, due to the condx during the second night, I finished with 120 QSO less, but one multi more. We must keep a "positive attitude" !
Anyway, I spent a very good time, I enjoyed it again, it was so great to meet all of you for one more time this year. I will be back, for sure, next year. 73' HCUAGN on thre bands. F6FYA./. -- F6FYA
