03/14/2005 | WD0BGZ Started off a couple weeks before the contest with the rotor going out on the tower, which by chance (antenna in the photos) rotated the antenna I was planning to use for the contest. Then a few days after that the main contest rig went out, followed by the backup rig failing. I think Ken, W0LSD felt like he was in the last few moments of a contest trying to get everything replaced, shipped for repair and back on the air before I arrived to start the contest. Ken did get the rotor replaced and the main contest rig showed up via UPS a couple hours before the contest started. I entered the contest in the single band catagory for 40 meters, had a great time thanks to Ken .... I look forward to next year, photos are of the antenna before and during installation and it worked great during the contest, yes the trees did give us some trouble during the install, but it was worth it... -- WD0BGZ
