07/11/2005 | N5WF The Wichita Amateur Radio Society used a site in Burkburnett's (Texas) Burk Royalty Park for its Field Day Operations this year. We had 18 operators participate and had over 30 visitors, including family members, to the site.

The Regional Liaison Officer for the Texas Department of Pulic Safety, the Emergency Management Coordinator for Wichita County (Texas), and one of the City of Burkburnett's City Councilors were site visitors.

We also used Field Day as a social gathering for the Society and cooked hot dogs for lunch and hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken, and peach cobbler for supper. -- N5DHG
