I was waiting for this contest, i like a lot for the challenge and the propagations gives some sorprises, is not chance to leave the things for "Tomorrow" worked or loose it, for that reason the idea is to get the most at once, this year i turn on my radio after removing all the possibles visits of Murphy or his friesnds and all looks nice, i start the contest in 80M , but the noise from all those power lines and A/C starting again and again made a impossible barrier in my Receiver 20dbs over s9 is a lot!, i move to 40 and the noise continue, i take mi chances and start calling , i get some calls back and the noise dissapears, that give the chance to put a few more contact in 40m , after the experience i try to get the most in the higher bands because the problem will show up again in the 40,80&160 (just 2 QSO's @ 160) i do my best with the high noise and the low propagation from my spot (city lot at 12 ft below sea level, HOT desert and 110F deg behind the door)
i'm happy and i will work to improve the station for next year, i found a problem to figth in the Mexicali summer (more than 100 days over 100F degrees) to operate this contest
tnx to all that take the time to give me the QSO.
