07/05/2006 | N1NBQ The Nantucket Amateur Radio Association worked Field Day with our communications van that is used for ARES and RACES operations. We parked on a bluff overlooking the ocean on the South side of the island. Our stations worked from batteries on 40 and 20 meters, SSB and CW with a screwdriver antenna attached to the truck and a sloping G5RV on a 30 plus foot military surplus mast. Not a big score, but good practice, great fun and camaraderie. -- K2LEK
