2004 ARRL International EME Competition

01/31/2005 | SV1BTR SV1BTR was active in ARRL 2004 EME International Contest as Single Operator, 50-1296MHz. Non assisted.
No self spotting, clusters, chatrooms was used. Operation was in CW random only, except for 2 cw skeds on 70cm.
I am extremely happy with my result which gave me the highest score ever, of 806,400 points despite declining cw eme activity, in 11 years of participation.
On 2m i used 16*6el. xpol 1.1wl at 22dbd and on 70cm 8*39el. 13wl H pol. at 26.5dbd
Conditions were great on 70cm. On 2m despite the use of xpol i found signals attenuated by 2-3db in 2nd part of the contest.
I look forward to 2005 eme competition and hope that ARRL distinguishes between:
a. assisted and non assisted operation
b. have a different wirght on scores depending on mode used, that is for example for each qso SSB 5 pts, CW 3 pts, digital 1 pt, so as to make the contest more fair and interesting to all participants, rewarding the effort each mode entails.

Thank you,
Jimmy SV1BTR
