2007 ARRL Field Day
Interveiwed Pres. N1EM, Edmund Fitzgerald and the team. Even the Firemen, and they may join ARRL after speaking with them. Very nice group effort by a growing group of dedicated people! Interestsed in emergency's at the firehouse. Usage really helps everyone.
#2) POLICE AMATEUR RADIO TEAM OF WESTFORD, MA..
Interesting site!! " They really got it together ". Their com. room was great and their lectures on a variety of different topics went over great with new amateur's and older operators. I also interveiwed the Pres. Budinger, and most of the team. emergency and newcomers is their thrust of information in the group!! Calls KD1D & WB1GOF,GOTA.
WOW!!!!!!!!!
#3) NASHOBA VALLEY ARC, PEPPERELL ORCHARDS, MA..
Interveiwed Pres. Stan Pozerski, also the team operators along with the large group of team operators and the large group of XYL's who are licensed as well!! They were kind enough to invite us to a sit down old fashioned southern diner!! What a great bunch of cooks!! Their sight of operation was terrific, in an old apple orchard, with sleeping and operating tents set up, with I believe 3 towers, their call is N1NC. The grounds were spectacular and so was the airplane overhead working areonautical!! Also,ARRL Dir. Tom Frenaye stopped in for a visit, while we were there. He didn't get lost (HI HI). Tom is a great person, if you haven't met him, try to!! I also became a member of NVARC.
#4) PHILLIPS AMATEUR RADIO CLUB (PARC).
Field Day combined withy Pautucket Amateur Radio Assoc.,interveiwed Pres. Allen Muise, PARC, K1NZQ, also the trustee David Robertson, KD1NA of P.A.R.A.,of Groveland, MA.. Sight was at the beautifully manicured grounds or Phillips Medical, in Andover, MA. A small, but effective group with some very qualified operators. Call sign W1HP.
This group was kind enough to let me check into my normal Sunday morning net on 6 meters. Thanks guys!
#5)NORTH SHORE RADIO ASSOC.
WOW!!!! What can I say, other than this. Interviewed Pres. Mark Caron, Field Day was in Endicott Park, Danvers, MA.. I believe there where 4 towers, quads, beams, wires, etc.! 6-7 operating tents, all band operation, call-NS1RA. Met an old friend W1FBI, Ed Gustat of Peabody, MA.. He was buzy working contact on C.W.. Busy bee!! Eric Horowitz KA1NCF ARES, DEC. and Dad (road runner extra ordineer) "Look out" HI HI!! I have to say that I personnally was very proud of this Assoc. which started in 1958. The orginal name was THE SHORELINE AMATEUR ASSOC., founded by yours truly, K1GBX. Long story short, while in Nam, I was contacted for permission for the club to change the name. They had over 20 members for setting up and the had their hands full!!
#6)CAPE ANN AMATEUR RADIO ASSOC.
Interviewed Pres. Curtis Wright, also I hope everyone else there. Again , super nice people, working hard to get the job done. Many of Gloucester Politicians came to see their emergency operations, including Sen. Bruce Tarr a fellow amateur radio operator. He was kind enough to lone his motor home for use, also he is a member of this Assoc., as I am. They had 2-3 tents and the RV, and cheated with getting up their towers with an old cherry picker!! Good thinking!!
#7) MYSTIC VALLEY ARG, Milton, MA. Well!! Saturday night after NVARC, we got a little lost! Then when we did find the Field Day sight, there was no one home. No way to sign in, sorry we got there so late, but we headed for home after a long day, and being tired, with Sunday yet to go.
To the clubs I missed, I will do my best next year!!
