07/05/2007 | N5KEV The 2007 Field Day did not turn out with the QSO numbers of last year, but the lessons learned between the insect attacks, poor propagation, and the heat of the Cibola National Forest were unforgetable. My best contact was using a mag mount 20M stick on a BBQ grill with an Elecraft 1 (battery power). I'm hoping next week for another great QRP event by a NM trout stream, a ham stick on a mag mount, and simple battery power with my Elecraft. Hope to catch you on the air then!!
