2007 ARRL Field Day

07/06/2007 | W7SA I have dragged my family off to a number of Field Day sites in a quite a few different states. Sometime we stayed and camped with the group, other times we just went for a visit every day, played on the radios and then went home again. Some of the groups were to win the contest, some of the groups were there to have fun.

This year we went with the Catalina Radio Club in Tucson, AZ. We were not able to camp there with them this year, but next year we will definitely have to do that. We had a great time. I believe that everyone had a great time. Saturday night they had a pot luck dinner and encouraged the families to join them.

During this year's Field Day my two sons, 5 and 14 were able to get on the radio and make some contacts. My oldest, Brandon, enjoyed himself so much that he started studying for his Technician license. On 5 July 2007, he took and passed the test for his technician license.

It was fun for all.
