2007 ARRL Field Day

07/07/2007 | W7CH Field day (w7ch Bear Mountain) overlooking Manson on Lake Chelan, Chelan County central Washington

After participating in many larger field day operations it was a refreshing change for John (N7rhy ) and myself (w7ch) Roger to somewhat revert back to the old days when we started field day with minimal participants . Locally, interest in Field Day had dwindled to near minimum.
Old salts John and I have to much fun to let this event pass without our participation. We picked a site rather easily accessible around 3000ft in altitude it turned out to be a great field day for the both of us and predominantly using a loop antenna we did very well with our 1A station. John is a great cook and we ate rather well and had a fun field day.
With most all the comforts of home, our station was outside using the awning. A rain squall Saturday along with some wind made things uncomfortable for a while .
We will probably be there next year competing against our score this year.
Please support the ARRL so they can keep up the good work.
N7rhy, W7ch -- W7CH
