07/09/2007 | WA2EQF With the weather cooperating WA2EQF, WB2EZG and WB2PJH entered their 41st year of public service. This was KC2OBS's 3rd year and AB2GR's 2nd year. WA2EQF finished installing the OCF dipole just in time for the beginning of the contest. This was the first year we used an OCF dipole and it worked well. With the contest going hot and heavy on Sunday morning the fellows forgot to check-in on the GraveYard net.

As I was the only YL, I made sure that everyone was fed and always had a cool drink in between my operating time. WA2EQF's new Yaesu FT 2000 performed flawlessly. In the words of WB2PJH "it is the best operating station I have ever seen".

We made 8 contacts using solar power thanks to AB2GR's K2. Field Day 2007 was a huge success and we all look forward to next year. -- KC2OBS
