2007 was the initial Thunderbird Amateur Radio (TBARC) Field Day. TBARC's FD operation was graciously hosted by Jack, KD7RCJ at his 'rustic' cabin in the mountains East of Flagstaff, Arizona. The weather was beautiful (Well, actually warm for Flagstaff.) and the site was gorgeous in every way. Everything was certainly a relief from the triple digit temperatures and smoggy air of TBARC's Phoenix, AZ home. Eleven of TBARC's more than 70 members participated in FD directly, but others helped in the planning and encouraging stages. Next year TBARC will have a much larger group participating. Still, 340 contacts was pretty respectable for an intial effort. Great fun was had by all and all participants learned valuable lessons about deploying the TBARCs RF capabilities.
TBARC, W7TBC, will QSL direct with any contact who forwards a QSL card and a SASE to:
Johnne Ables, W1YB

Anyone in the Greater Phoenix area who is interested in Amateur Radio should check out the Web Site of the best ARC in the Valley (The TBARC, of course!) and come join us for lots of great fun and activities. See http://www.w7tbc.org/ for details
See ya' on the air sometime soon and later on down the log!!! 73 -- W1YB
