We were 6 Alpha this year, which I think is a first for the club. Thanks to the extra effort of a relatively new ham, we had computer logging at all stations (except GOTA). The instant dupe checking, the progress feedback, help in keeping stations on separate modes/bands: computers definitely make RF more fun. We made 52% more contacts this year than last, even with the poor conditions, and some trouble with interference between stations. The food was great, as usual, and the weather could not have been much better. We operate at a county historical park; there is usually a station in the telegrapher's office of the railway depot (although this year that was the digital station -- I think Sam Morse would have approved). I stayed for the whole period with two of my kids, a personal first. We operated right up to 1pm. Planning for next year has already begun; we need to solve those interference issues. I can hardly wait! -- AB9FH
