11/06/2007 | KQ4BH FD 2007 was a repeat of the previous year. Set up the KQ4BH/GOTA at the W4GS Grand Strand Amateur Radio Club site in Myrtle Beach, SC. Four Scouts came out for the Radio Merit Badge class and all four completed their requirements including QSO's on the GOTA station. Several vistors during the day, including Dr. Jim N2ZZ the South Carolina SM. Enjoyed coaching a young couple, both new hams, with their first HF contacts. Was I that nervous so many years ago? Yes. Worked through most of the night. After a short early morning nap, I opend up my newly built chuck box and gave the crew a much appreciated pancake breakfast with coffee and bacon.
