I had a lot of fun during the IARU 2007 HF contest until
I got strong problems with my 6 element multiband trap yagi
Fritzel FBDX660 on 20m band. In case of a bad SWR ratio I believe
that I made to much power. My rig was ICOM IC756PRO3, ACOM1000
with round about 750W. The 1:1 balun and one or two of
the both 20m traps are faulty now. OK, nothing is forever,
but why did murphy visit me during this nice contest. So
I reduced my operation time to try to fix the problem. I
could only change the balun, but I could not repair the
traps. Thats a real contest situation..hi. A nice story,
after the contest.. The WX was wonderful and I made an interresting
picture with my digital camera. Do you can see the "burning balun"
in the middle of the 6 element yagi antenna in about 60 feet above the ground ? Thanks for 620 QSOs during my active contest time.
