08/07/2007 | WA1RKS Well, not a real stomper of a contest for me,this time. I'm in an RF hole to begin with so this contest does not favor my local.But it was unusually slower than normal. I only have 220.3 fm, 432,cw,ssb.and 1296 fm. I worked the air from start to 11pm locally,and only snagged 4,contacts on 432, and went back and snagged one on the 5th. so only those five. All the big guns were missing, I can usually work, K3YTL,K3EAR,WB1GQR,K1WHS,K5MA,W#CCX,WB2SIH,just to name a few,and most of these I did not hear, altho I heard that Dave K1WHS was on, but we passed like two ships in the night I guess. So bigger and better antennas planned for Sept, hope we can get it done in time. hope all had a gud time, I usually do,even if its slow! 73 gud dx, to all!. de Ellis. -- WA1RKS
