2007 ARRL September VHF Contest
Highlights:
1. Great scenery on our routing from Glacier N.P. to WDB via Grand Coulee Dam!.
2. QSOs with backpackers, N4TII & KI4YDI, on 2m & 70cm from atop Logan Pass (DN38) in Glacier N.P. as contest began. Heard 6m M/S bursts, but no calls.
3. Great 'rag-chew' with Mark, W7MEM, when we overnighted in DN17.
4. Heard W7MEM on 2m CW when just south of Coulee along Columbia River!
5. Heard W7MY on 2m CW much of the time while roving across & down DN07
"Lowlights":
1. Heard bad powerline and ignition noise at most times.
2. Very few stations operating in EWA (Dryside)
3. Didn't operate in CN87 due to heavy road traffic
4. Nobody heard during last hour of test!! (& yes, the rig was still working!)
5. Drove into CN88 at 8:05 PM on Sunday
6. QRP & 2m 5/8..6m 1/4 wave vertical didn't help my effort very much!
