2007 ARRL September VHF Contest

09/13/2007 | K7RST The Radio Society of Tucson (RST Club) operated at 9200 feet above Tucson from Mount Lemmon. It was a perfect weekend with temps in the low 80's and lows in the low 50's. Meanwhile, down on the desert floor below it was around 102 degrees!

We operated in a fairly busy location with lots of hikers, tourists and weekend sightseers. So, it was a lot of great PR as usual. This is the same location we use for Field Day and the ARRL August UHF Contest.

We operated with two Honda 2k generators. Randy (me), KF is a HUGE Nebraska football fan and I had to set up my DirecTV dish to watch my game on ESPN while operating! Now that is really roughing it!

It was yet another successful contest with the Radio Society of Tucson (RST Club), Tucson's largest amateur radio club. -- KF0X
