Was a good contest here in middle part of the U.S. Because local activity is so sparse a 6m E opening is always welcome. Sat. afternoons lengthy E opening was from here probably centered in the Gulf of Mexico so grids worked were along the Gulf coast and Florida. Most contacts were not easy. On the higher bands rovers helped the score with KA0KCI/R, WR0I/R, N0DQS/R and W3DHJ/R in the log. One interesting notation was that of the 186 QSO in this contest zero were from the 271 to 360 az direction. No contacts on any band to the Northwest.
Its difficult to know for sure but this was probably my 99th ARRL VHF contest. As of yet no weddings or funerals on VHF contest weekends. -- N0LL
