11/18/2007 | KB3PLG This was my first contest on vhf ever and it was great. I was at home and found out about contest so, I made a dipole and tuned around on 2 meter ssb. I heard a number of stations, so i decided to get on.
To a hilltop (fn 10) I went with a homebrew 4 element yagi for 2 and a dipole up about 30 feet on 6 and my Icom 706 MKII. I made a few contacts some in the dc area. nothing too impressive. But, it got me started on vhf. I will be ready for 08. See ya on the air
