11/20/2007 | N3GVL Had great fun with this year's contest!! I was surprised I could land a handful of West Coast contacts being out in MDC with a dipole 10 feet off the ground.

Felt a little left out, though. All you Big Guns out there just drowned me out. My off-the-shelf 100W rig just couldn't break through often enough.

To all you operators that took the extra time to pull me out of the noise for the contact: Thank you for keeping the spirit of the hobby intact - it's not always about the points.
