12/17/2007 | KN5O Last time I ran sweepstakes was 1975 at W5GAD where we (WA5RMC, now K5EF and myself, KN5O formerly WA5OZH) took the US Multi-Op that year. So 32 years and a career later, from the home QTH I basicly used the same equipment as then and very similar antennas as well (Mosley 10/15/20 tribander, a 40M beam and a sloping dipole for 80M).

Even though my Collins S-Line is getting on in years and not as easy to manuver around like the new stuff, I had a lot of fun. The contest was as long and as tiring as I remembered it - especially since this time I carried the load myself. But I learned vauable lessons for next year - don't repeat myself so often for the exchange, improve my time management and better band changes/selection (I should have stayed on 80M longer and avoided 15M this year which would have helped my score.)

Anyway, next year, I plan to be back with different radios and an improved antenna farm. Congrats to all who participated and thanks for the Qs -- de Ted -- KN5O
