I found conditions probably the best they have been for me on 160M since the last sunspot minimum in 1995/96. I had my most QSO's since the ARRL & CQ 160M contests in those years. 193 QSO's in 38 sections. Not bad when you consider my meager setup. A Kenwood TS-570D at 5 watts output to an attic random wire antenna about 110' long with around 20 bends and twists to fit it into the attic. Many QSO's came quite easily with no repeats required this year whereas the past several years I must have been sent a question mark by almost all stations I worked or tried to work. If you're interested in more info about my contest, I have a story about it in the Contesting section of my web site - K3WWP's Ham Radio Activities. I hope a lot of those I worked will enter our NAQCC 160M QRP Sprint on January 25. We had great participation last year and hope for more this year. Details on the NAQCC web site. See you there and in the CQ 160M contest the weekend after the sprint. -- K3WWP
