12/10/2007 | N8QE Band conditions were terrible in Northeast Ohio. I worked a few local Ohio stations, caught one small E's opening Saturday evening to the southwest states from Texas to Mississippi for about 90 minutes, and heard not a DX station anytime. Totalled only 22 contacts running QRP with 5 watts to a vertical. The good news is when the E's were in effect, the signals were really strong, but it didn't last for long. I watched football Sunday afternoon as the band was dead as a doornail all day Sunday..........Bob -- N8QE
