2007 ARRL 10 Meter Contest

Well, nowhere as good as the last time I had the weekend somewhat clear to operate. Over 45k points in 2005 and just about 33% of that score this year. But, considering the time available, and the ROTTEN CONDITIONS, the score is what it is.
Have been wondering where the W6, W7 and W0 stations were hiding this year. Worked only one W0 toward the end of the day on Saturday, but didn't even hear a 6 or 7 the entire contest. Were you guys awake? Have yet to see a contest - good or bad conditions - when I didn't work 6, 7 & 0-land!
Typical of ten, there were brief openings - very brief and few and far between. Managed to work a VO1, but like the 6, 7, & 0-land calls, didn't hear another VE/VA/VO the remainder of my time.
DX was out of the picture for me. Again I can attribute most of my problems to lack of operating time, but as varied as the available time was, I should have caught something - other than a cold from being in the basement shack too long! Didn't hear the "local" islands this year, either.
In the long run, we're at the bottom of the cycle and should be on an upswing this time next year (please!!!!!) and we can all work up some better scores.
