12/11/2007 | W5LCC Not a bad contest for ten just got tired of working state side. It looked like on Friday that it was going to be a good contest we worked 209 qso in the first two hours and shut down at five hours with 351 qso. We did get a few new hams on the radio KE5PRZ and KE5RFF they had a blast! It's fun getting them going in their new hobbie. We were looking forward to the next day. At 0800 local time it was time to get going and at 1200 it was time to get going but the band just wasn't working with us. As the grey line came in the band did open up and we went to CW for the Bob and Ron show WA5VSK and WA6LBB, they worked for a few hours and did work a few SA but the serial numbers comming back were low. Sunday was not very good, had to keep rocking the antenna to get the ice off of it M2 10 M7. We did work one PA station and that is the furthest north east station worked all contest. We didn't work any w1, w2, I guess they were missing in action. All in all it was a fun weekend for are new hams to get on the air but it was alot of calling cq for only a few qso. We ended up with 592 qso and 62 mlt. Planning on next year to be better.
