2007 ARRL International EME Competition

12/07/2007 | AD4TJ 2 meter EME: I accomplished my goal this year of tripling last year's QSO total; 9 in 2006, and 56 this year. New amplifier, lower loss feedlines, and no huge problems all contributed. I made my first EME CW contacts, also. Overall, a resounding success!

56 Q's, 32 multipliers. 3 CW, 53 JT65B. 17 contacts came on my CQ's; 38 on others; 1 on tail-ending. That is an area where we can all improve on. Many times I called a station when he finished a QSO and never got a response, they just disappeared; must have been on the loggers, and didn't think they could do any good sticking around. Well, surprise! There are probably many others that ran into that as well. Now that I can post messages on the moon-net reflector, I will be able to announce a CQ freq and let others find me. I already am planning on improvements that will make my EME efforts much more successful. Look out next year!

Am entering with K4EME and KR4V as Multi-op, Multi-band( 50-1296 ), Mixed mode, as we did last year. Running un-assisted didn't hurt me one little bit! On 432, from K4EME's station with KR4V assisting,( 8x33/500-1000 watts ) 28 Q's and 19 multipliers were made; 23 CW and 5 JT65B Q's. Total: 84 Q's and 51 M's x 100 = 428,400 points; a huge improvement over last year's score of 52,800 points.

73, David AD4TJ FM08me Virginia 4x15/500-1000 watts, 24 dB/.5nf -- AD4TJ
