2007 ARRL International EME Competition

12/09/2007 | LU1CGB After a long year of heavy work in the station, this year I heard many station on 144 and JT65 has provide us of many hours of enjoyable operation.
On October weekend, my station setup was IC-275H with home made preamp in the shack, a 4CX1500B amplifier, with a 19 single yagi antenna. The weather was not cooperative and heavy QRN during first pass make very difficult to receive any signal, after storm was gone, some stations appear. On the next day, weather was OK, and 14 contacts was made, a big improvement from last year (3 QSOs on both weekends, running only 100 watts)

In the middle, I finished 4 x DJ9BV yagis, mounted horizontally, with a new MGF1402 preamplifier mounted in the top of the tower.
In November, on first pass, Friday night (LU time), we can heard many station making QSO, one every Khz, but none of them answer my calls for a couple of hours, but after that, I started to works one station after another. On Saturday morning after minutes of moonset I worked JM1GSH on my first Japan contact on EME.
On the finals, I worked KL7UW in Alaska,with a total of 59 QSOs. -- LU1CGB
