Well, at least it's nice (only joking) that Murphy visits Al's QTH when I'm not there. Over the years I've run a number of EME contests with Al, and each had its memorable "drop-ins" by Murph.
This year was no different for me, though. During my short stop to lend an ear, the ANCIENT computer running the cw decided to get cranky and lock up, requiring rebooting. Only lost a few minutes each time, nothing to ruin continuing in the contest. Must say it was less of a down than losing an amp or being unable to move the dish.
Gentlemen, those of us who operated at Al's must take up a collection and provide DR. EME with a newer computer than the one he's using. I figure a reconditioned 286-10 might do nicely!
Great job to all involved. I just wish my schedule allowed for more activity. Even with the visits from Murphy, it has always been interesting.
