01/01/2008 | KD6WKY There was a surge of clumsy straight keys on the air immediately upon UTC New Year, it was fun to listen to everyone for a minute or so. Include me in the mix! At UTC on 4meters I made contact with Kelvin W7NVQ in Twin Falls, ID as Straight Key Night slowly filled the New Year airwaves.

As you can see by the photo, I had plenty of fuel to keep me going throughout the evening as I worked a station, visited with family and friends, worked another station, checked in on my teenagers, and worked another station before going over to Jerry KG6TT's QTH for a short New Years Eve visit.

The best fist of the evening was Charles WB6IYM in Clayton, CA.
