Well, that was a hoot. I operated with a 1 watt QRP rig and that made it a little harder, but I still made over a dozen QSOs without really trying too hard. It was fun to hear all the straight keys at work, and some very good fists. The relaxed and extended QSOs were a nice break from the usual slam-bam "contest" exchanges that seem to dominate the weekends.
Conditions could have been better, but they were good enough. My Navy Flameproof key got a good workout, and I worked a number of fellow Straight Key Century Club (SKCC) members. Overall, a great time and I can hardly wait for the next SKN. Maybe I'll have 5 watts by then! -- WB8OGK
