01/03/2008 | KB2FCV In 20 years of being a ham, this is my first ever SKN. While I did not make many QSO's, I had some nice lengthy ones, one spanning an hour and a half! I decided to go "full novice mode" and use my HW-16 with crystals. I used a J38 Key (not pictured, I was testing my setup in this pic with my bug). I enjoyed the nice leisurly pace of the event, quite a nice change from some of the regular CW contests! The HW-16 performed well and will probably stay in the main operating position for a little while longer as it's just fun to use. The IC-746 will continue to take a break - at least until the VHF contest rolls around. 73, James KB2FCV -- KB2FCV
