2008 ARRL Straight Key Night

I had a great time working 14 contacts on my first SKN. Exciting to hear the bands full of handmade cw.
Highlights were working SS Red Oak Victory docked in Richmond, CA, K6YVM, op Steve on his uncle's WWII brass key. Chatting with Luci, KL1WE/6 operating from Occidental, CA (should have asked her to send something from Negri's over the wireless!), and W6SGJ on the Navy Flameproof. Worked an Illinois station that was qrp.
I used a J-38 with 50 watts into a dipole.
