01/07/2008 | K2A/3 This was my first SKN. 2007 was my first year operating CW. Outside of checking into my local ARES/RACES net and WPA Emergency net, I have not used a mic. I operated K2A/3. K2A is the special event call for the second anniversary of the Straight Key Century Club(www.skccgroup.com) . The event will run during all of January. I found the bands to be alive with CW. I only had a short time to operate for SKN due to a New Years Eve party. I made 7 QSO's and had a blast doing so. The best fist heard was Ron AC2C. Very smooth and rythmic. Not at all like my somewhat shakey fist. I plan on making SKN a part of my New Years ritual every year from now on.
