01/08/2008 | WB8DQT New Year's Eve was filled with other obligations, but I did manage to get on the following day and work a few stations 40 meters using my Argonaut V at 5W to a trap dipole. DX ranged from the next town over to most of the mid-continent - not all that different from my Novice days in the late-50s. Used the Hy-Mound Swedish Pump again this year and found that chasing SKCC contacts through the rest of the year kept the old arm in good shape! The usual high standard of courtesy and cameraderie.
