01/21/2008 | KQ6EE Kq6ee was on the top of Mt. Disappointment (5500+') in Los Angeles basin on both Sat. and Sunday. I hadn't did any contest for a while because of the family and school. It is excited to do it again. It was windy on Sunday. The weather was so good (sunny). Hiking to Mt. Disappointment is a easy task; just drvie to the trail head and WALK about half hours or 45 minutes. There is still some snow on the trail. I operated from 6m to 1.2g except 900 mhz using all handheld and FT817, and no beam antennas. The longest distance is DM 12 (San Diego) from my QTH ( DM04 )with 5 w or less. I haven't calculated my score yet. Looking forward for June and summer contest. 73 -- KQ6EE
