01/24/2008 | KA2LIM This was the first time useing our portable contesting vehicle, "The Gridsqrare Limo" in the January SS. It worked well as we stayed warm with the temp outside at around 10 degrees and the winds gusting between 40 - 50 mph. The band conditions were very poor from our location in FN12nf. Only made two sked's on time, N1DPM - Thanks Fred and K9NS for digital. Rover sked's bombed big time, No doubt the weather contibuted to this. Had some goofy things go wrong, but was able to get them fixed and move on. Missed many 222 and 432 contacts that are usually easy, once again poor band conditions. But, good friends, good food, good refreshments = a good time had by all in our group. Look to work you in June.
