02/18/2008 | K5BZH I didnt make many contacts, but Im not complaining. My trap vertical has yet to be repaired, used my backup on 20 meters, a dipole that is tacked to the eaves of the house, which places it less than 3 meters above ground. For 40 and 15 I used a 40 meter dipole that is 6 meters off the ground. Radio was an IC-7000 at 100 watts.

My signal was likely pretty weak, my thanks to all of you that provided a contact. I made a total of 86 Qs. I only made 25 contacts on 20 meters, but that included 16 countries spread over all continents! Missed Africa on 40 meters, on 15 I missed Asia and
Europe. Never heard a soul on 10 meters. Japan had a pipeline into the Texas Panhandle on 40 meters, so did Hawaii.

At one point I thought I had worked BY1LZ, then I realized after coming down from the ceiling it was 6Y1LZ in Jamaica. Worked him on three bands all total. My biggest disappointment was not connecting with VP6DX.
